The Beaumaris Singers of Newport, Shropshire are seeking to appoint a new Musical Director. Owing to work commitments our current MD has reluctantly given notice.
We are an auditioned SATB chamber choir numbering less than 30, well-established in the area. We perform a wide-ranging repertoire that includes classical choral music, secular part-songs and more up to date music from the world of jazz and musical shows.
We are looking for someone to continue the good work of our present MD and further develop the choir’s sound. The MD will have the ability to develop choir members, a clear communication style and good people skills.
Beaumaris Singers currently perform around three main concerts a year, in a range of venues across the local area.
We benefit from the services of an experienced accompanist at rehearsals and concerts, and occasionally engage a small professional ensemble and soloists. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings in Cosy Hall, Newport, which is a large modern facility with a well-maintained Yamaha grand piano.
Remuneration will be by negotiation, dependent upon experience and qualifications. We are hoping to appoint the successful candidate to start preferably in early 2020, or later by agreement.
